Mahkota Tricom Unggul University (MTU) held a graduation procession for Bachelor and Associate Expert graduates with S1 Management and D3 Accounting study programs in the 2021/2022 academic year period, Saturday (3/9/2022).
Head of Region I Higher Education Service Institute (LLDIKTI I) Prof. Dr.Ibnu Hajar in his speech said that there are three criteria for students after graduating from college. The first is students who have worked when they were in college. After graduating, they are no longer difficult to find work because they have been there before. With college, those who are already working after graduation can be used to get promoted or get a chance to get a promotion. Unfortunately, those who have worked even though they are still in college are only about 10 percent.
The two people who graduated tried to open a business, even though they failed, they kept trying until they succeeded.
Look at it now, said Ibnu, with only digital devices, namely smartphones, he can open a business. Unfortunately people like this are still not many around 20 percent
Third, people who graduate from college are only looking for work in various agencies and companies. People like this number is very much that is 70 percent.
Ibnu reminded that currently the achievement index is no longer a guarantee to get a job, a place to study no longer guarantees success, but success is determined by the competencies possessed.
Digital technology creates no more limits for people to interact with each other. Utilization of technology can create new opportunities in business.
The development of digital technology, mastery of language is an important thing for someone to have. Everyone can interact with people in different parts of the world.
MTU University Chancellor, Dr. Dompak Pasaribu, SE, M.Si, CPA, CACP in his remarks said that the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 has seen many changes. The use of digital technology is a must. Those who do not follow the use of digital technology are clearly left behind. Many businesses that do not keep up with technological growth are forced to go out of business, including the world of education.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, education is not allowed to be face-to-face, while the education process must be carried out, so it is done online. But not a few who experience difficulties because the infrastructure is not ready in terms of quality.
In this era of digital technology, industrial movements are now very difficult and unpredictable from year to year.
Just look at now any industry is competing to apply artificial intelligence. At the time of the Covid-19 pandemic only 20 percent could survive. This is due to the lack of digital literacy owned by SMEs. In terms of Indonesia needs 9 million digital workers.
It is the same with MTU University which continues to make changes from the form of a high school to a university. From one campus to two campuses and so on. MTU University tries to be creative to keep up with the times.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Mahkota Tricom Foundation, Usli Sarsi, hopes that every student has an entrepreneurial spirit to process the natural resources of this nation. This nation needs human resources. Whatever profession you do, there must be an entrepreneurial spirit.
